If you’ve never played the racquet sport that’s taking the USA by storm – now’s your chance to try it here at HSTC.

Pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in the USA for five straight years, with over 48 million US adults (19% of the adult population) having played at least one game in the last 12 months, according to the Association of Pickleball Professionals.

It’s a paddle sport played on a small court that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. Quick reflexes are more valuable than speed around the court.

The club is going to create a pop-up court in early November, using a portable net and temporary markings. If there’s enough enthusiasm, we may even stage a mini tournament. The paddles and balls will be provided.
