We’re delighted to announce that Yaz (Yasmin) Torry has been appointed as our Centre Manager.

Yaz has a background in sport and fitness, having enjoyed competitive women’s football and swimming before health issues unfortunately intervened.

She started her career in sports management with Leeds City Council in 2011, as a lifeguard and swimming teacher. Yas still has passion for lifeguarding and is working towards becoming a qualified training assessor so that she will be able to teach people to become lifeguards for the RLSS (Royal Lifesaving Society Charity).

Until recently she was working as a key member of the York Sports Village management team – part of the University of York.

Yaz joined us here at Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre as Assistant Manager in May. The first few months of operations of the new facilities have been challenging, to say the least, and Yaz has worked extremely hard to ensure the pavilion is now open and staffed seven days a week. She has proven to be highly capable, as well a friendly and welcoming face to members and guests alike.
