Soroptimist International of Harrogate and District’s Club President, Pat Shore MBE, was delighted to present Millie McDaid with the Gill Smith Shield for Best Girl Improver at the club on 30th November.

Millie’s mum said, “Millie started playing tennis when she was six, for fun in her garden playing with her family, and really wanted to join Harrogate Spa Tennis with her mum and granny. She started having lessons with Strive straight away and loved it, especially meeting new friends. Millie loves tennis and comes down to the club as much as she can to practice, and all the members at Harrogate Spa have helped encourage Millie with her growing passion!” Chris Dight is Millie’s Strive Coach.

The award is presented annually in memory of Soroptimist Club member Gill Smith. Gill loved tennis and was a former member of Harrogate Spa.
