Congratulations to the winners, runners-up, and indeed all who participated in a splendid set of matches!

Finals day results

On 9th September – a steaming hot late summer day – there was some excellent play in front of an enthusiastic audience able to watch from the new terrace for the first time.   

• Chris Reynolds beat Will Rogers to take the Men’s Singles title.
• Niamh Owens beat Carolyn Rothwell to win the Ladies Singles.
• Noel Baden-Thomas overcame Mark Upton to win the Men’s Vintage Singles for the O55s.
• Greg Kropczynski defeated Jamie Sigsworth in the Men’s Singles Plate final.

Competitions across summer weekends

• The Mixed Doubles event was on 29 July; 10 pairs entered and were split into two groups playing 4 matches each. A final between the two groups saw Niamh Owens and Roger Suggett beating Marie Scrimger and Henry Brogatzki.
• The following weekend was the Men’s Doubles, with 9 pairs playing 7 rounds, with a different handicap for each round. The final was won by Chris Reynolds and Tom Barker, defeating Henry Brogatzki and Tony Swainston.
• In the Ladies Doubles event there were 7 pairs, and all the pairs played each other. The winners were Roseanne Eckart and Sarah Bates.
• The last event was the Vintage Mixed Doubles for the over 55’s, which had 10 pairs split into two groups. In the final playoff between the two groups Margaret Jackson and Jon Hipkin triumphed over Ian Charters and Jane Walker.
