First Open Day 1st Nov 2015

A Great Success

The club held an Open Day on Sunday 1st November, hopefully the first of many. Of course the sun shone (well, at least until 2.30pm) and new families, adults and members had a great time.

The event saw tots, teens and adults enjoying our fantastic new club with its excellent courts, and thank you to everyone who helped in such a variety of ways. The clubhouse was scrubbed spotless, and it has a new Welcome mat; there were cakes for all; new perfectly planted planters on the decking, with secure seats; new benches by each court; and a personal meet and greet for visitors. Then on court our coaching co-ordinator Matt Mcturk, coaches Chris Dight, Harry Ward, and coaching assistants James Lofthouse and Jamie Sigsworth were able to give the visiting families a taste of tennis, with special mini tennis nets and balls. Meanwhile club members played on the other courts and visitors joined in, to show that Tennis is a sport for life. In the afternoon we had lots of visitors who mixed and matched on court playing with club members, all enjoying some lovely tennis, even in the fog!
